JAMMU: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking banning the private practice by the Government Doctors has been listed in the State High Court for March 7, 2019.

The PIL No.6/2011 titled Vichar Kranti International & Anr V/s State of J&K & Ors seeks a ban on the private practice by the Government Doctors including the Doctors belonging to teaching faculty of Government Medical College, Jammu and Srinagar.

In 2016, the Supreme Court had remanded the matter back to the State High Court for deciding the question with regard to private practice by Government Doctors afresh.

However, the matter was not listed for consideration before the Division Bench by the Registry.

After considering the submissions of counsel for petitioner, a Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan directed the Registry to list PIL No.6/2011 on March, 7, 2019.
