10 IAS officers, 24 KAS officers transferred

JAMMU: In a major higher-rung bureaucratic reshuffle, the State administration on Tuesday shifted 12 Deputy Commissioners across Jammu and Kashmir—7 in Kashmir, 4 in Jammu and 1 in Ladakh Divisions, when it ordered transfers and postings of 10 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and 24 Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) officers.


The Deputy Commissioners of Srinagar, Pulwama, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Baramulla and Anantnag in Kashmir valley and Udhampur, Kathua, Doda and Reasi in Jammu region and Kargil in Ladakh were replaced.

As per the order issued by the General Administration department, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary (IAS), Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar.

Shahid will be replacing Abid Rashid Shah (IAS), who was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama vice Ghulam Mohammad Dar (KAS), who was transferred and posted as Commissioner, Survey and Land Records, J&K vice Shahbaz Mirza (KAS), who would be replacing Shahid as Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora.

Indu Kanwal Chib (KAS), Director, Rural Sanitation, J&K, was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Reasi vice Doifode Sagar Dattatray (IAS), who was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Doda vice Anshul Garg (IAS), who in turn was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara.

Garg would replace Khalid Jahangir (KAS), who was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag vice Mohammad Younis Malik (KAS), who was further transferred and posted as Director, School Education, Kashmir.

Malik would replace Dr Ghulam Nabi Itoo (KAS), who was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla vice Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash (KAS), who was further transferred and posted as Director, Area Planning and ex-officio Special Secretary to the Government, Planning, Development and Monitoring Department.

Hashmat Ali Khan (KAS), Director, Hospitality and Protocol, J&K, was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal vice Dr Piyush Singla (IAS),who was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Kathua.

Singla would replace Rohit Khajuria (KAS), who was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur vice Ravinder Kumar (IAS), who was further transferred and posted as Managing Director, J&K IT Infrastructure Company.

“Kumar shall also hold the charge of Managing Director, J&K SIDCO,” the order said.

Baseer-ul-Haq Chaudhary (IAS), Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Uri, upon his promotion to the Senior Time Scale of IAS, was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Kargil vice Vikas Kundal (IAS) who was transferred and posted as Additional Chief Executive Officer, Metropolitan Regulatory Authority, Srinagar.

Kumar Rajeev Ranjan (IAS), Director Area Planning & ex-officio Special Secretary to the Government, Planning, Development and Monitoring Department, was transferred and posted as Additional Chief Executive Officer, Metropolitan Regulatory Authority, Jammu.

“He shall also hold the charge of MD/Chief Executive Officer, Mass Rapid Transit Corporation, Jammu and MD/Chief Executive Officer, Srinagar Metro Rail Transport Corporation,” the order said.

Sachin Kumar Vaishy (IAS), Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Khaltsi, upon his promotion to the Senior Time Scale of IAS, was transferred and posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh, relieving Moses Kunzang (KAS), Additional District Development Commissioner Leh of the additional charge of the post.

Among the other KAS officers transferred or posted, Gulzar Ahmad Dar, Director, Sericulture, J&K, is transferred and posted as Director Information J&K, vice Tariq Ahmad Zargar, who was transferred and posted as Director, Hospitality and Protocol, J&K.

Mehmood Ahmad Shah, Regional Director, Survey and Land Records (ex-officio Settlement Officer), Anantnag, was transferred and posted as Director, Industries and Commerce, Kashmir, vice Bilal Ahmad Bhat, who was transferred and posted as Managing Director, J&K State Road Transport Corporation, on deputation basis.

Bhat would replace Manmohan Singh, who was and posted as Director, Command Area Development, Jammu vice Jatinder Singh, who further was transferred and posted as Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Jammu vice Amit Sharma.

Sharma was transferred and posted as Special Secretary to the Government, Transport Department. He shall hold the additional charge of the post of Special Secretary in the Secretariat of Road Safety Council.

Shabnam Kamili, Special Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department, was transferred and posted as Mission Director, ICDS, J&K vice Veer Ji Hangloo, who was transferred and posted as Director, Urban Local Bodies, Jammu vice Rajinder Singh Tara, who was in turn transferred and posted as Joint Financial Commissioner, Agrarian Reforms in the office of Financial Commissioner, Revenue, J&K.
Leena Padha, Special Secretary to the Government, Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, was transferred and posted as Director, Rural Sanitation, J&K; Reyaz Ahmad Wani, Secretary, J&K State Water Resources Regulatory Authority, was recalled and posed as Director, Sericulture, J&K; Mathora Masoom, Director Floriculture, Kashmir, and Abdul Hafiz Shah, Additional Director, SKIMS, Srinagar, would swap their places of postings; and Tsering Mutup, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Neyoma, was transferred and posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Khaltsi.
