Justice Bindal inaugurates Model Legal Literacy Club at Marh

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 09: Executive Chairman, J&K State Legal Services Authority Justice Rajesh Bindal today inaugurated the Model Legal Literacy Club in Government Higher Secondary School at Marh here.
Justice Bindal inaugurated the Club in presence of Secretary School Education, Ajit Kumar Sahu, Member Secretary, J&K State Legal Services Authority, Mohammad Akram Choudhary, Director School Education, Anuradha Gupta, Secretary DLSA Jammu, Naushad Ahmad Khan, SDM, Tariq Hussain Naik, Ex legislator Sukhnandan Choudhary, and other officers of the district administration.
On the occasion, Justice Bindal laid emphasis on the opening of more such Clubs especially in the rural areas so that the students' community can aware the general masses about the basic laws, civil liberties, and human rights enacted by the constitution for their welfare.
The club has been provided with literature in the form of booklets, brochures, pamphlets reflecting various welfare schemes sponsored by NALSA, SLSA and Central and State Government for reading and reference purpose for the students.
District Legal Services Authority, will provide resource persons that include Advocates, empanelled Legal Services Advocates, Para Legal Volunteers, Academicians, Retired/Serving Judicial Officers, and other DLSA functionaries to apprise the members of the Legal Literacy Clubs about various basic laws so that they can further spread legal awareness amongst students and other members of the society.
Ajit Kumar Sahu and Tariq Hussain Naik also spoke on the occasion.
Later, awareness-cum-interaction session was also conducted to enlighten the students about the protection of children from various forms of exploitation.
