Advisors listens to public grievances at Kathua, assure timely redress

KATHUA, FEBRUARY 09: As part of Governor Administration's public outreach programme, Advisors to Governor, K Vijay Kumar, K K Sharma, and K Skandan today held a public grievance redressal camp at Kathua where they met several public delegations and individuals who apprised them about their issues and demands.
During the camp, 15 deputations and over 50 individuals apprised the Advisors of their grievances and sought their intervention in ensuring redressal of the same.
A delegation of border dwellers apprised the Advisors about their issues and sought their intervention in executing fencing along the leftover border area, augmentation of power infra and repair of defunct tube wells.
Besides, several individuals also met the Advisors and registered their issues/demands including pending list of SPOs, renewal of gun licenses, local employment in industries, premium related issues of Kissan Fasal Bima Yojana, Upgradation of Educational, Medical, and Power infra, removing illegal encroachment, illegal mining, toll exemption on paddy and grains, augmenting PHE and PWD infrastructure and other public importance and developmental issues.
A delegation of advocates also met the Advisors with a request for maintaining uninterrupted power supply in Lakhanpur, the gateway of J&K and utilizing the non-functional tourist infra.
A delegation of retired personnel of Central Armed Forces flagged the issue of war memorial and demanded a recruitment rally especially for the wards of retired personnel.
Members of Cement Traders Association demanded an embargo on the import of cement from minor Excise Posts as it causes loss in revenue to traders and increases smuggling.
Advisors gave the deputations and individuals a patient hearing and assured that their grievances/demands would be examined and the concerned departments will be asked to redress all of their genuine concerns.
They also passed on spot instructions in few cases to concerned officers/departments to look into the grievances raised by the people at the camp and to resolve them on time.
Advisor Sharma inquired about the power scenario of the snow-bound Bani area of Kathua and directed the Executive Engineer of PDD to restore the power supply in all the snow-affected areas as soon as possible.
He also directed the Executive Engineer of PWD to complete the repair work on Dayalachak- Challian road at the earliest.
Advisor, K Skandan directed the Chief Agriculture Officer to complete all the formalities for implementing PM-KISSAN scheme in the district.
Advisor, K Vijay Kumar directed the DC Rohit Khajuria to identify land for Cricket Stadium at Kathua so that better sporting infra can be created in the district.
Earlier, the Advisors visited Lakhanpur and took stock of working of various Departments at Lakhanpur viz Excise, State Taxes, Forest, Agriculture, MVD etc. They also inquired about the number of vehicles entering and leaving State per day.
DC Excise, Lakhanpur, Ashish Gupta informed the Advisors that efforts are afoot to make the toll post cashless by installing POS machines.
Secretary Youth Services and Sports, Sarmad Hafeez, SSP, Sridhar Patil, ADC, ACR, Engineers, CAHO, CAO, DSHO and other district officers were also present on the occasion.
