DC Kupwara tours Handwara, takes stock of availability of essentials, snow clearance measures

KUPWARA, JANUARY 10: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner and other concerned officers today visited Handwara and other adjacent areas of Rajwar and Zachaldara to get the first-hand appraisal of snow clearance measures and availability of basic amenities including safe drinking water, healthcare and sanitation and restoration of power supply there.
The DDC visited District Hospital Handwara and NTPHC Zachaldara to take stock of the facilities being provided to the patients. He instructed the concerned to ensure better healthcare facilities to the patients and the availability of doctors and paramedical staff in the hospitals round the clock.
During his visit, Deputy Commissioner took a thorough review of the snow clearance mechanism wherein he stressed for mobilizing men and machinery so that the people may not face any inconvenience whatsoever.
Meanwhile, the DC interacted with the people and enquired if they were facing any kind of hardship. The residents of the area applauded the role of District Administration in snow clearance measures and restoration of power and water supply within a very short span of time.
Moreover, the DDC assured the people of the area that the administration will put in extra efforts for providing every basic facility including water and power supply in a hassle-free manner. He stressed upon the concerned for adhering to the power curtailment schedule in letter and spirit.
Among others, the DDC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, CMO, Executive Engineers of PDD, R&B & PHE and other Sectoral Officers.
