Bengaluru, Feb 9 : Karnataka State BJP Spokespersons Ashwathnarayana and Ayanur Manjunath, MLC, today charged that the JD(S) and Congress leaders, to cover up their failure to give good governance have enacted a drama by releasing a fake audio cassette, targeting Opposition Leader in the Legislative Assembly B S Yeddyurappa, who is also the BJP State President.
Addressing a joint Press conference here on Saturday, both the leaders alleged that "to divert the attention of the people of the State, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has resorted to present a fake audio cassette".
Stating that the alleged voice recorded in the audio cassette, which allegedly took place between Mr Yeddyurappa and a JD(S) worker is concocted, they said that "People of the State will teach a bitter lesson to both JD(S) and the Congress combine for their immoral actions".
Meanwhile BJP's State Yuva Morcha B Y Vijayendra, son of former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, strongly refuted the charges that his father was involved in the 'Operation Kamala' to woo the ruling party MLAs. Confirming that he had gone to Mumbai recently on personal work, he, however, said that he had not met any of the Congress rebel MLAs there. "I have only met the independent MLA Shankar".
It may be recalled that Mr Kumaraswamy, in a startling disclosure, on Friday, had released a recorded audio cassette, in which Mr Yeddyurappa had spoken to a JD(S) worker and brokered to lure the Gurumitkal MLA, Naganagouda into BJP fold. The names of Karnataka Speaker Ramesh Kumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and BJP National President Amit Shaw also figured in the alleged conservation, which took place in the presence of two other BJP MLAs, in the presence of Yeddyurappa.
