Mauritius PM arrives to attend Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas, R-Day parade in Mumbai

New Delhi, Jan 20: Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth arrived here on Sunday on a week-long visit India to attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas celebration at Varanasi and also attend the Republic Day parade on January 26 in Mumbai.
According to official sources here, the visiting dignitary will leave for Varanasi to take part in the Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas on Monday.
During his visit, he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and take boat ride followed by Ganga Aarti.
The meeting between two Prime Ministers is slated for Tuesday at Varanasi, sources said.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will meet the visiting dignitary at Varanasi on Monday.
During his stay, Mr Jugnauth will also call on President Ram Nath Kovind at Varanasi on Wednesday, January 23.
India is Mauritius’ largest trading partner and has been the largest exporter of goods and services to Mauritius since 2007.
Sources also said during his stay in India, the visiting dignitary will also meet Union Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu.
The Mauritius Prime Minister will also visit Prayagraj and visit the Kumbh Mela area on Thursday, January 24.
The visiting dignitary will be in Mumbai on January 25 and January 26 wherein the Maharashtra Chief Minister Mr Fadnavis will call on him, sources said.
He will attend the Republic Day Parade at Shivaji Park in Mumbai on January 26 and also attend
at Home, function to be hosted by the Governor of Maharashtra.
