DEO Kishtwar calls for stepping up SVEEP activities

KISHTWAR, JANUARY 19: Deputy Commissioner (DEO) Angrez Singh Rana today called for stepping of awareness activities in rural areas under the under Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme to mobilize them for massive participation in the electoral process.
Speaking at a meeting he asked the BLOs to inform, educate, motivate and facilitate voters for their active participation in the electoral process.
Among others present at the meeting were ACD, Anil Kumar Chandal, District Nodal Officer SVEEP, Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, ENT besides Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
The DEO reviewed and discussed the preparedness for implementation of SVEEP programme in the district, proof reading and printing of the electoral rolls, sensitization of the election helpline toll free number 1950 , physical verification of polling stations, longitude / latitude along with photographs, verification of checklist addition /deletion and correction, details of persons with disabilities , final publication of E-rolls, continuous process for additional /deletion through nvsp.in and other related issues in view of the upcoming General and Assembly Elections.
The DEO directed the election staff to complete verification of checklist of addition /deletion/correction in a time bound manner and share the same with BLAs for making the electoral roll error free for upcoming elections.
Directions were also issued to concerned for celebration of 9th National Voters Day at every polling station and Tehsil HQs.
The District Nodal Officer SVEEP informed the meeting about various activities to be held in the district under the programme.
He also enlightened the participants about various aspects of SVEEP and later a live demonstration was given to BLOs regarding the operationalization of EVM-VVPAT.
