Govt. P.G. College Rajouri organized two day Interdisciplinary National Conference on "Recent Trends in Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences" in the multipurpose hall of the college here today. The inaugural session was chaired by Prof. Javed Mussarat Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, BGSBU Rajouri and jointly presided over by Dr. Ashfaq Zarri Registrar BGSBU, Rajouri, Prof. G.M. Malik, Dean Students Welfare, BGSBU, Dr. J.A. Qazi Principal Govt. P.G. College Rajouri and Prof. Shabir Hussain Shah, Principal Govt. Degree College Mendhar. The event started with Talavat-e-Quran by Dr. Ahsan-Ur-Rehman followed by welcome address by the Principal of the College, Dr. Javaid Ahmed Qazi who highlighted phenomenal achievements made by the college in the recent past and also presented his vision and objective of this conference. Dr. Abdul Qayoom Khan, HOD Geography and convenor of the conference presented introductory note on theme of the conference.
The conference opened with a video lecture sent exclusively for this conference by father of green revolution in India Prof. M.S. Swaminathan who besides congratulating the college management for this conference stress upon the importance of research in variety of areas of concern. He encouraged the researches to ignite their minds with new ideas and contribute selflessly for the nation building and human welfare.
Prof.Javid Mussarat presented the key note address and extensively deliberated on the importance and scope of research especially in the Interdisciplinary areas as it is the age of choice based credit system through which each an every subject is linked and no subject can breathe freely without the other."There is need to encourage creativity and research aptitude among the research scholars and budding scholars of the colleges and universities",he added. He also congratulated the principal, staff and students of Govt. P.G. College Rajouri for this outstanding effort in a far flung border hilly area like Rajouri.Inaugural session concluded with vote of thanks by Prof. Anwer Shah organizing secretary of the conference.
The dignitaries who presided over the technical sessions were Dr. G.M. Malik, Dr. Asger Ali Shah, Dr. M. K. Waqar, Dr.Javaid Iqbal, Dr. Pankaj Chandan. The internal faculty of the college including Dr. Ashaq Raza Co-organizing secretary, Prof. Javed Mughal, Dr. Bashir Ahmed, Prof. Assadullha Khan and Dr. Yash Paul Sharma, Dr. Mohd Saleem Wani, Prof. Manzoor Dar, Prof. Asif Lone, Prof. Z.A. Mirza , Rakesh Puri, Prof. Amit Bhalla and many others made utmost efforts to make the conference a success.
