JeM claims responsibility of twin grenade attacks

Srinagar, Jan 17 : Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has claimed responsibility of the grenade attacks in Srinagar and Shopian on Friday.

A spokesperson of JeM Mohammad Hassan in a statement issued to TNN claimed that three Security forces personnel were critically injured in the attack on a CRPF vehicle at City Centre Lal Chowk just few steps away from the Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower).

He also said that several Security forces personnel were critically injured in the attack at Gagran in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Earlier in the day, suspected militants lobbed grenade on police (SOG camp) in Gagran, Shopian. However no loss of life or injury was reported. At noon, grenade was lobbed at CRPF vehicle in Lal Chowk.

A police official said two incidents of grenade attacks by militants took place at Srinagar and Shopian.
