Republic Day arrangements reviewed in Samba

Samba : To review arrangements for smooth celebrations of the forthcoming Republic Day, a meeting of the District and Sector Officers was on Thursday convened by DDC Samba Sushma Chauhan at her office here today. On the occasion, ADDC Arvind Kotwal, ADC Samba Vikas Gupta, PO ICDS Jyoti Rani Salathia, Chief Education Officer Samba, Chief Medical Officer, DPO, and DSWO. DIO, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B), PHE and PDD Division Samba, besides other District and Sector Officers also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, it was revealed that the main function will be held in the Sports Stadium Samba where VIP/VVIP will unfurl the Tricolor and take the salute of the March past contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, FPF, NCC and school children. In addition a colorful cultural programme will also be presented by the school children.
For general supervision of the necessary arrangements, a committee of officers was constituted under supervision of the ADC Samba comprising the members from Police, Army, PWD and other Departments.
Various other necessary arrangements were also discussed in the meeting which includes security, drinking water facility at the venue, cleanliness and sanitation, seating arrangement, traffic management, power supply etc.
While participating in the meeting, Addl. SSP Samba Faisal Qureshi said that fool proof security arrangements will be made for smooth and enthusiastic celebration of the National Day. He enjoined upon all the officers of department concerned to cooperate with the security personnel during making necessary arrangements at the venue. DDC also enjoined upon the officers to recommend the names of those officials who have performed their duties exceptionally well so that they are appreciated with citation certificates on the occasion.
