KUPWARA, JANUARY 17: Deputy Commissioner Khalid Jahangir today finalized the arrangements for the smooth celebration of forth-coming Republic Day 2019 function, here at a meeting.
It was informed that the main function shall be held at DPL Kupwara starting with Shahna-i-Wadhan played by the artists of Information department.
The Chief Guest will hoist National Flag at 10.20 am and will take salute on the march-past to be presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRP, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and School Children. Cultural programmes shall also be presented by the School children which will be followed by the prize distribution ceremony. The DDC was informed that similar functions shall also be organised at Sub Division levels in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure adequate arrangements of security, sanitation, healthcare, electricity, drinking water etc, to make the event a success.
Meanwhile, the DDC chaired a review meeting to finalise the arrangements for the smooth celebration of Urs of Hazrat Zeeti Shah Sahib (RA), scheduled on January 20 and 21 at Muqam-i-Shahwali Drugmulla.
A detailed discussion was held with respect to the availability of essentials for the devotees arriving in large numbers.
The DDC directed the concerned authorities to ensure an adequate supply of ration, uninterrupted power and water supply during the scheduled hours besides maintaining proper sanitation in and around the shrine.
The DDC directed Health department to facilitate the first aid facility at the venue besides directing the Mechanical Division and R&B department to ensure snow clearance on all the roads leading to the shrine so that hassle-free movement of devotees is ensured.
The meeting was attended ACR, CMO, Naib Tehsildar Drugmulla and other concerned.
