JAMMU: The State Administrative Council (SAC) headed by Governor Satya Pal Malik is expected to meet in Jammu on Monday, with an announcement on hardship allowance for Jammu and Kashmir Police likely, in all probabilities, even the election preparedness, and some routine transfers are also included in the agenda to be discussed.

The biggest announcement Governor would make on Monday will be much-awaited hardship allowance for Jammu and Kashmir Police, top sources indicated.

Governor Malik himself had hinted at “some good news” for the state cops last week.

On Thursday while addressing the concluding function of 8th Police Martyrs Memorial T-20 cricket championship in Kathua, Malik had said that "police will get a good news on the upcoming Monday."

Jammu and Kashmir Police had, for the past quite some time, been demanding hardship allowance in view of its working under extremely tough circumstances in the militancy-infested State.

The proposal for hardship allowance was virtually through and the SAC could give its nod to the proposal on Monday, sources said.

Besides, discussions pertaining to the preparedness of upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, and transfers in police and administration are also on the agenda of the meeting, they said.
