Air traffic disrupted at Srinagar airport due to snow, poor visibility

Srinagar, Jan 12 : Air traffic at Srinagar International Airport was disrupted on Saturday due to fresh snowfall and poor visibility, an airport official said.

Due to snowfall since early Saturday morning and poor visibility ,no flight could operate at Srinagar airport, he told TNN. So far three flights which were scheduled to operate in the morning were cancelled while other flights have been delayed.

We do not know if delayed flights could operate since the visibility is still very poor, he said.

We will be inspecting the visibility at 1330 hrs when it will be decided to allow air traffic at the airport, he added.

Air traffic was also suspended on January 4 due to heavy snowfall and poor visibility and resumed the next day.
