Modi expresses confidence to win 2019 LS election

Solapur, Jan 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed confidence about Bharatiya Janata Party winning 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Modi on Wednesday launched the four-laning of Solapur-Osmanabad section of NH-211, underground sewerage system and three sewage treatment plants in Solapur.

While launching these, he hoped that bill providing 10 per cent quota for the general category poor in jobs and education will be passed in Rajya Sabha by members respecting the public opinion.

The prime Minister started his speech in Marathi while launching road and underground sewerage system projects developed at an investment of Rs 1,100 crore in Solapur.

Prime minister also laid the foundation stone for a Rs 1811 crore housing project of 30,000 units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

He said this housing project will benefit poor and Biddi and textile workers. He also inaugurated the four-laned 98.717 km Solapur-Tuljapur-Osmanabad section on NH-211 (New NH-52). The Rs 972.50-crore toll road project will improve connectivity between Solapur and the Marathwada region. It involves an investment of Rs 1811.33 crore, of which Rs 750 crore will be provided by the Centre and the state as assistance.

He said the poor people in the country will get their owned houses soon and said our government is committed to provide justice to poor and down trodden who were deprived of any facility by the previous government.

A tug of war has ensued between alliance partners BJP and Shiv Sena, as leaders of both the parties are on state tour on Wednesday.

On one hand , Prime Minister Modi is launching various developmental projects in Solapur while on the other hand, Shiv sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is on a state tour to distribute relief material to the farmers in Marathwada.

Thackeray was not attend the Modi programme.
