J&K Police foils terror plot, nabs two Hizb accomplices

Jammu: In a major breakthrough, police foiled a terror plot by arresting two accomplices of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist outfit in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"It has been learnt from specific inputs that the Kashmiri separatist militant organisation Hizb-ul-Mujahideen are operating for demand and supply of Arms and Ammunition in the shape of a module in Jammu and Kashmir," police spokesman here said.

He said that on a tip off, a check point was laid by Police at Lakhanpur and one truck coming from Punjab towards J&K was intercepted.

"During the process, an amount of Rs 71,000 of HM was recovered, adding that two persons identified as Nissar Ahmed and Aaqib (driver), both resident of Chersoo, Awantipora, district Pulwama, Kashmir have been arrested.


A case under unlawful activities (Prevention Act), 120-B RPC, 7/27 Arms Act has been registered and investigation is started, police added.
