DC Kishtwar inaugurates Science Exhibition, Book fair

KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 18: Deputy Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana, inaugurated district level Science Exhibition and Book fair here at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwarorganised by DIET under Samagra Shiksha.
In the exhibition, 47 government and private schools participated with their exhibits cum models based on the theme of agriculture, energy, health, environment and natural resources. Besides, 15 book stalls were installed by local booksellers, district library Kishtwar as well as students of HSS Boys and Girls Kishtwar in the book fair etc.
Speaking at the occasion, Deputy Commissioner hailed the concerted efforts of Education department in this regard and assured full support in holding of scientific and other extra co- curricular activities. He expressed his satisfaction and praised the children and teachers for their wonderful work with regard to preparation of thematic models. He advised the students to refrain from bad habits like smoking, alcoholism and drug menace to live a harmonious and healthy life.
In the science exhibition, HSS Boys Kishtwar clinched the first position, HSS Girls Kishtwar 2nd Position and HSS Shirodh won the 3rd position.
Besides, Daffodil Public High School bagged first position, SDM Public School 2nd and IslamaiaFaridia Higher Secondary School bagged the 3rd position.
Principal DIET Ashok Kumar welcomed the participants and enjoined the students to strive for making the earth a beautiful planet.
Later, trophies, medals, certificates were distributed among the winning schools by the dignitaries.
Among others present during the occasion were ADDC, Kishtwar, Imam Din, ACD, Kishtwar Anil Kumar Chandail, CEO, Kishtwar Tariq Khoja, Principal DIET Ashok Kumar, ZEO Vidya Prakash, Principals PrehladBhagat, KishoreKumar, Sunita Kumari, Vidya Dhar, besides adjudicators Riaz Ahmed Giri, (lect.Botany), Shabir Ahmed (lect.Zoology), Apramjeet Kumar (lect.Zoology) and officials from DIET Kishtwar and other institutes.
