NaMo launches 'Timeless Laxman',remembers 'The Common Man'

Mumbai, Dec 18 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday released a coffee-table book titled 'Timeless Laxman' which illustrates the life chronicles of the acclaimed cartoonist R K Laxman.
The Prime Minister said he is elated to be a part of the event which was held in the memory of R K Laxman.
Rasipuram Krishnaswami Iyer Laxman or famously known as R K Laxman shot to fame with his creation of the comic character 'The Common Man'.
The Mysore-born cartoonist would represent the struggles and joys experienced by a common man in the society.
Prime Minister Modi further said the works of R K Laxman can serve as a conduit for understanding the social settings of the times.
The pan-India recognised character of 'The Common Man' still lives within crores of people,added Prime Minister.
Prime Minister proceeded to Pune after visiting the Kalyan city of Thane district where he launched multi-crore developmental projects.
