Patna, Dec 17 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Keshav Prasad Maurya today accused Mr Rahul Gandhi of misleading the nation on Rafel defence deal and the recent verdict of Supreme Court on the issue was a slap on Mr Gandhi who should step down as Congress president for spreading falsehood on such a sensitive issue.
Mr Maurya told media here that Mr Gandhi had erected building of lies by deliberately spreading falsehood on Rafel defence deal for purchasing fighter planes and the recent verdict of Supreme Court on the issue was a slap on him who should resign as Congress president taking moral responsibility for the offence committed on such a sensitive matter. People would not tolerate and give befitting reply to Congress and its president Mr Gandhi for misleading them, he remarked.
"Congress appears to be an automatic machine for spreading lies and the party is also playing with security of the nation by its irresponsible action", BJP leader said, adding that the judgement of Supreme Court on the issue had left no scope for any one to make false allegations against the government.
Mr Maurya said that Mr Gandhi had tried to dent the clean image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for whom, nation was first and then the party while the individual concerned came at last. Congress always kept the interests of individual and party above that of the nation, he said, adding that Congress had track record of scams in defence deal in its long tenure in the power.
