CISF detects 53,700 US dollars from Afghan national at IGI airport

New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) The Central Industrial Security Force on Wednesday detected a huge amount of foreign currency from a foreigner at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, a CISF official said here on Thursday.

According to CISF, at around 1150 hrs on December 12, a CISF surveillance staff noticed suspicious activities of a passenger at the departure area of Terminal-3 IGI airport who diverted the passenger to random checking point.

On physical checking of his baggage by CISF personnel 53,700 US dollars worth approximately Rs 38,00,000 was detected concealed in the layers of the clothes.

The passenger was later identified as Gayasi Abdul Munir, an Afghan national, who was bound for Kabul by Kam air flight.
