New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) Close on the heels of party's defeat in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the BJP on Thursday announced that the party will hold a crucial two-day long national executive meet in the capital in January 2019.

"The next National Executive meet will be held on January 11 and 12 and all office bearers and elected representatives will attend the same," BJP general secretary Bhupender Yadav told reporters after the meeting.

The meeting presided over by national president Amit Shah was also attended by two senior general secretaries Ram Madhav and Ram Lal - both RSS nominees to the saffron party.

"Today's meeting had nothing to do with recent elections," Mr Yadav said adding "this was a pre planned meeting and was decided longtime back".

Answering questions, he said this was "pre-planned and was called only to work out details about the National Executive meet".

He said besides the National Executive meet, there will be several conventions of party's various Morchas (wings).

Earlier, however, party insiders have suggested that issues related to party's rout in Chhattisgarh and defeat in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh could be discussed in details.
