On a further question on whether one would see a Chief Minister soon, mr Gandhi, who met party observers for Rajasthan K C Venuhopal and Avinash Pandey here on Thursday morning, said- Yes, off course, you have to see a Chief Minister soon.

Party sources said Venugopal and Pandey met Mr Gandhi at his residence at Tuglaq road where they informed him about the views of the Congress MLAs in Rajasthan.

Sources said Rahul has had discussions with AICC observers for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh also.

Later on Thursday, he is also likely to meet Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya scindia, the chief ministerial aspirants for MP.

Sources said an announcement on the name of the chief ministers is likely by Thursday evening.

The suspense over who will be the chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh continues to mount with the Congress legislators in the three states authorising party president Rahul Gandhi to take the final call.

The Congress observers on Wednesday held closed-door interactions with the Congress MLAs in MP and Rajasthan.

However, the legislature party of the fwo states left it for Rahul to take the final decision.

While in Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot are contenders for the position, in Madhya Pradesh the race is between Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia .

While the supporters of Kamal Nath and Gehlot cite their experience as the reason for making them chief minister , which would be crucial in stabilising the fragile new governments in both the states, supporters of Pilot and Scindia are seeking a generational shift in leadership, saying it would send a positive signal to the youth.
