Muzzaffapur shelter home case charge sheet almost ready, CBI tells SC

New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) The probe agency, CBI, today apprised the Apex Court that the charge sheet is almost ready in the Muzzaffurpur shelter home case is ready and will be filed soon.
A division bench of the Apex Court, headed by Justice Madan Bhimrao Lokur, was informed that the agency is in the process of filing 21 charge sheets for every girl who was subjected to abuse and rape.
Th Supreme Court also asked the Central Bureau of Investigation whether the Income Tax department is investigating the case. CBI replied that the department is doing the investigation.
Earlier, the apex court had ordered an Income Tax investigation into the assets of Brajesh Thakur, the main accused in the sexual abuse of girls in the Muzaffarpur shelter home under his charge.
The top court had questioned how Thakur had received Rs 4.5 crore from the Bihar government for the past 10 years to “finance the activities” of his NGO ' Sewa Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti.'
The apex court had ordered the CBI to look into the antecedents, connections and influence of Thakur and the NGO.
