Snowfall derails life in HP, many roads snowbound

Shimla, Dec 12(UNI) Many parts of Himachal experienced moderate to heavy snowfall while down stream were lashed with showers, as tourist places like Manali, Shimla, Kufri, Narkanda and Dalhousie were seen covered with snow on Wednesday.

Met Office said that Gondla in Lahaul Spiti 12 cm snowfall, Kothi in Kullu & Kufri seven cm each, Kalpa six cm, Shimla & Mashobra -four cm each, Keylong three cm.

Hindustan-Tibet National highway, Thoeg-Gumma-Jubbal and Kotkhai, Theog Gumma -Chopal and other roads were partly disrupted by the snowfall however the the road snow were

cleared from the road soon .

Manali-Keylong Road which were opened in in the end of November were again became snow bound. With fresh snowfall in the Tourist resorts of state tourists were making bee lines to

visit the snow points.

Solan & Renuka in Sirmaur had 16 mm rain each,Nahan & Sangrah 15 mm each, Manali 12 mm, Salooni in Chamba 10 mm, Rajgarh in Siramur 9 mm, Dharampur in Mandi 7 mm,

Paonta sahib in Sirmaur & Baijnath in Kangra six mm each, Dharamshala & Kandaghat in Solan five mm each, Gaggal Airport in Kangra, Seobagh & Banjar in Kullu 3 mm each.

Minimum temperature of Shimla was coldest in the season recorded 0.4 degrees and nearly 4.8 degree below normal, Keylong in Lahaul Spiti was coldest in

the state with minus 6.2 degrees, Kalpa minus three degrees, Manali 0.4 degrees, Dalhousie minus 0.7 degrees and nearly 5.4 degrees below normal.

Tourist resort Kufri was cold at minus 3.3 degrees, Nhana 3.3 degrees, Mandi four degrees, Solan five degrees, Dharmshala 6.8 degrees Bhuntar seven degrees, Chamba 7.6 degrees, Una and Bilasur 8.8 degrees, Hamirpur 8.9 degrees and Kangra nine degrees respectively.

The Met office forecast rain or snowfall in the few part of sate in next 24 hrs.
