Sensex Rallies By 363 85 Pts After Appointment Of Shaktikanta Das As New RBI Governor

Mumbai, Dec 12: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday rebounded 363.84 points to 35,513.85 in early trade after former bureaucrat Shaktikanta Das was named as the new Governor of the Reserve Bank of India.
Dealers at the forex market said that the investor sentiment got a boost after the appointment of the RBI Governor on the hope that liquidity issues will be now be addressed.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too gained by 111 points to 10,660.90.
The Sensex registered intraday high and low at 35,554.36 and 35,167.47 points.
The Nifty recorded intra-day high and low at 10,675.25 and 10,560.80.
The sectoral indices like material, consumer durables, finance, industrial and banks rallied further in the opening session.
The gainers were Hero MotoCorp by 5.03 pc to Rs 3188, Yes Bank by 4.23 pc to Rs 184.90, Tata Steel by 3.69 pc to Rs 520.10 and Bharti Airtel by 3.58 pc to Rs 300.50.
