JAMMU: The State Administrative Council (SAC) headed by Governor Satya Pal Malik is scheduled to meet in Jammu tomorrow, with the status of Jammu and Kashmir Bank vis-à-vis the recent SAC decision taken to change Jammu and Kashmir Bank into a Public Sector Bank and row over the simplification in Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) law being on the top of the agenda to be discussed.

While there were apprehensions about the meeting considering the health of Governor Satya Pal Malik, who on Wednesday canceled his visit to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences where he was scheduled to attend its annual day celebrations due to his deteriorating health and flown to New Delhi, the sources have indicated that it was a routine medical checkup and will be back in winter capital Friday morning.

Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam, who was also in Delhi, has arrived back this evening, they said, adding the meeting will take place at 4 in the evening.

The meeting may approve several important cases, as the chief secretary had attended several meetings with the top functionaries of the key ministries of the central government on his Delhi visit, sources told.

Besides the issues of J&K Bank and PRCs, the decisions on proposals of transfer and postings, particularly in the police department, will also be taken.
