Drug peddler arrested with 600 gms of charas in Ramban

Jammu: Police arrested a lady drug peddler along with a consignment of 600 grams of Charas from near Banihal Railway station in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pertinent to mention here that Police had information of some female peddler from across the Jawahar Tunnel involved in the business of selling narcotics to the youth of this side and since then nakas at different places along with lady police were laid to nab her but she kept on changing the modus operandi.

Police said that on specific information, a special team of Police remained in civies at a strategic location near the Railway station.

"As soon as she deboarded the train and was on way to her next destination, she was apprehended along the the quantity of the psychotropic substance which was kept in a polythene bag she was carrying," police added.

They said that the drug peddler has been identified as Halima Begum, resident of Wandon, Zainpora, Shopian.

A case under NDPS Act was registered and investigation started.
