Anti-PHE protesters block Kupwara-Srinagar road

SRINAGAR: Residents of Arampora village in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday held a protest demonstration against the shortage of portable water in the area. The residents had also blocked the Kupwara-Srinagar highway to press their demands.

Reports said that scores of the people from Arampora village assembled and blocked the main road, and hampered the traffic movement for hours. The residents said that they are living without water from past many weeks

They said despite approaching the concerned authorities time and again there were no initiatives taken by them to sort the problem. The protesters alleged that they are facing immense problems due to the department’s negligence to repair the pipeline.
