JAMMU: There is no respite from the troubled water he is sailing in since past four months, as Dr Yash Pal Sharma, who had to move back from the post of Director National Health Mission after court’s intervention, was not allowed to join back at his previous posting for the want of official order.
If this was not enough, the government has initiated an inquiry against him for accepting salary higher than his pay-band!
Dr Yashpal Sharma, Registrar (Academics), Government Medical College Jammu was transferred and posted as Mission Director NHM vice Dr Mohan Singh vide Order No.207-HME dated March 23, 2018.
Dr Singh however, got a stay order from court in this regard on the grounds that the said Order was issued by an incompetent authority.
The two doctors later had a scuffle in full public view, both staking claim on the chair of Director NHM at Chanpora, which eventually went to Bhupinder Kumar and then another relevant officer.
However, when Dr Sharma came back to the GMC to rejoin as Registrar Academics, hewas stopped to do so on the grounds that he had no government order for his fresh posting.
While Dr Sharma was busy in making presentation before the administration in civil secretariat, a fresh inquiry was initiated against him by the NHM authorities on that grounds that he had taken salary against his pay band grade.
Sources said that Dr Sharma falls in the grade of Medical Superintendent having Rs 8700 as pay band but he enjoyed his salary against higher grade having pay band of Rs 10,000. The NHM authorities, thus, pressed recovery proceedings against him.
Dr Yashpal Sharma, when contacted over the issue, expressed his complete ignorance.
However, when this scribe tried to verify the same with Atul Dulloo, Commissioner/Secretary Health and Medical Education, he informed that there is no order for the posting of Dr Yashpal Sharma as Registrar Acdemics in GMC.
“His case as Director NHM is sub-judice. His further posting will be done on court’s direction,”said Dulloo.
