BJP leaders meet Malik, seek action; Advisor meet families

JAMMU: Led by its national vice-president and party in-charge for State Avinash Rai Khanna, a delegation of state BJP leaders Tuesday met Governor Satya Pal Malik and sought the immediate arrest of those behind the killing of party leader Anil Parihar and his brother, even as Raj Bhavan sent Advisor to Governor B B Vyas along with senior officers to the families of the deceased duo in Kishtwar, assuring that the investigation in the incident would be completed soon.
On Tuesday, the BJP delegation visited Raj Bhavan and took up with him the Kishtwar killings, demanding thorough investigation in the incident and security for its key leaders in the district.
The delegation which by led by Khanna urged the Governor to direct the state administration, especially the police, to nab those responsible for the killings soon, while ensuring that such incidents do not repeat in future.
They also pressed for providing adequate compensation to the victim's family.
This is a very serious matter and the government must restore and maintain the faith of the people in the rule of law, National vice president and J-K in-charge of the BJP Avinash Rai Khanna told reporters here.
Malik was further informed that several key party leaders in Kishtwar should be provided security so that they can serve the people without any fear, Khanna said.
He also impressed upon the Governor that the minorities of the state were being compelled to abandon their homes as part of a "planned conspiracy".
"A sort of economic terrorism is being carried out in Kishtwar and other areas of erstwhile Doda district with a planned conspiracy to compel the minorities to abandon their homes," Khanna alleged further.
Corroborating Khanna's views, BJP MLA Sat Sharma said the killings were aimed at frightening and demoralising the nationalists in the state and force them to migrate.
The fear among minorities has to be removed and an atmosphere of peace and security has to be developed for which the administration has to work relentlessly by nabbing culprits at the earliest, he said.
Meanwhile, Advisor to Governor BB Vyas accompanied by DIG (DKR) Rafiq-ul-Hassan, Deputy Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana, SSP Kishtwar Rajinder Kumar Gupta today visited families of the Parihar brothers in Kishtwar.
While interacting with bereaved families,the Advisor expressed deep sympathies and condolences to them on behalf of the Governor and on his own. The Adviser directed the District Administration to process the case for employment and financial assistance for appropriate and immediate consideration of the government.
While responding to the concerns raised by the bereaved family Vyas assured that Governor's administration shall take all necessary steps to address the requirements of the bereaved family.He also assured the family of immediate support of State Government to them in this hour of crisis.
Later, the representatives of Sanatan Dharma Sabha and Majlis Shoura Committee Kishtwar also called on the Advisor and urged for speedy probe into the matter.
While briefing the media, the Adviser said that on the directions of Governor, he visited the bereaved families.
He further stated that the investigation in the matter shall be completed at an earliest.
Further, he assured that the suggestions and demands put forth by the members of Sanatan Dharam Sabha and Shoura Majlis Committee shall be looked into on priority and steps will be taken to address their concerns.
Vyas while expressing his deep gratitude to the people of Kishtwar for maintaining brotherhood, peace, amity and communal harmony during said in future they shall continue to maintain these values and also provide their full co-operation to the administration.
