Srinagar, Nov 5 : The weekly Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) has been suspended on Monday, official sources said here.

They said a message was received from POK authorities that the cross-Line of Control (LoC) will not operate.

All the passengers, including POK returnees, who were scheduled to travel in the bus have accordingly been informed, they told TNN.

The passengers will be accommodated in the next bus, sources added.

They said POK government has announced holiday on Monday when funeral of Sardar Khalid, son of Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, founder President of POK will be held at Rawlakote.

Sardar Khalid (70) a veteran politician passed away on Sunday.

The bus service was introduced on April 7,2005 when India and Pakistan agreed to allow state subjects from both sides to travel on “ Travel Permits” instead of International Passport.

The bus has since helped thousands of families divided in 1947 to meet each other.
