Dussehra tragedy: Train services affected on Jalandhar-Amritsar route

Amritsar, Oct 20: Train services on the Jalandhar-Amritsar route continued to remain affected for the second day on Saturday due to the train crash on the Joda crossing line in Amritsar which claimed 60 lives.

According to an official of the Railways department, eight trains were cancelled and five diverted. The diverted trains were running via Tarn Taran. A few trains were terminated midway after the accident.

After the accident on Friday evening, few trains, namely, 12640 Amritsar-New Delhi, 14681 New Delhi-Jalandhar, 12054 Amritsar-Haridwar, 12053 Haridwar-Amritsar, Amritsar-Jallandhar city passenger, 74675 Amritsar-Pathankot city passenger were cancelled, railway sources said.

The 12904 Golden Temple Mail, Amritsar-Dehradun Express, Nanded-Amritsar Express, Kochuvelli-Amritsar Express and New Delh-Amritsar Interstate Express were re-routed.
