DDC Kupwara inspects developmental works in Rajwar

KUPWARA, OCTOBER 19: District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today conducted an extensive tour of Rajwar area of the frontier district to inspect availability of basic amenities to the people.
ADC Handwara, Gulzar Ahmad, SSP Handwara, CMO Kupwara, Exen PDD Handwara Division, Exen R&B, Tehsildar Handwara, District Manager CSC e-governance and other officials accompanied the DDC.
DDC inspected various ongoing developmental projects carried out by various departments and agencies and issued on-spot directions to the concerned officers for the necessary coordinated course of action towards completion of pending projects.
The DDC inspected the work going on 100-bedded ST Girls Hostel building at Zachaldara being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.05 crore. The DDC directed the Exen R&B to mobilize men and machinery on the war footing to ensure the completion of the hostel within the stipulated time frame.
He also visited Community Health Centre and inspected various facilities there. The staff informed the DDC about the availability of medicines and functioning of OPD/IPD block at the Centre. He also took stock of the work going on in the maternity/labour room and directed Exen R&B to complete the work at an earliest so that benefits accrue to the people.
Jahangir also got a first-hand appraisal of facilities provided to sportspersons participating in various sports and games organised by the district administration in collaboration with DYSS department.
The DDC also attended a sports function as chief guest played under Khelo India Scheme by District Youth Services and Sports at Boys Higher Secondary School Poshwan Zachaldara.
He also interacted with various deputations comprising civil society members, youth and prominent citizens at Horticulture Sub Centre Zachaldara. The deputations apprised the DDC about various issues and demands related to roads, electricity, water and other issues were projected.
The DDC assured redressal of issues and demands after proper scrutiny and issued on-spot directions to the concerned officials for the proper course of action.
He urged the people of the area to avail the benefits of government-sponsored schemes like MGNREGA and stressed on early completion of works like playfields, fencing of schools, link roads etc for benefit of the general public.
