Police refutes reports, says pic showing youth joining militancy fake

Srinagar, Oct 15: Refuting reports, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said a picture claiming that a youth from south Kashmir district of Anantnag has joined militant ranks, is fake.

“Picture showing Anantnag youth joined militants group is refuted as baseless and fake,” a police spokesperson said.

A picture of a youth from Anantnag, claiming that he had joined militant ranks, went viral on social media sites, including Facebook and WhatsApp.

Many youth in the past have used social media, particularly Facebook, to announcing their joining militant ranks.
