Three drug peddlers held in JK

Jammu, Oct 15: Three alleged drug peddlers were arrested and charas and heroin seized in two incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Monday.

Milap Chand alias Labbu, a resident of Birnoo village of Ramnagar, was arrested along with 300 grams of charas during patrolling in Udhampur district, a police spokesman said.

He said Vijay Singh and Manpreet Singh were arrested after 25 grams of heroin worth Rs 1.25 lakh was recovered from them in Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu.

They were riding a two-wheeler when they were stopped by police for checking, he said, adding 15 grams heroin was recovered from Vijay and 10 grams heroin was seized from Manpreet.

Two separate cases under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic. Substances (NDPS) Act were registered in the police stations concerned against the accused who were being questioned, the spokesperson said.
