Kolkata, Oct 7: A gift of varied fish platter will greet Bengalis living in distant Ahmedabad during the Durga Puja.

The State Fisheries Development Corporation (SFDC) will set up a food stall at the Ahmedabad Kalibari, which hosts one of the biggest Durga Pujas in Gujarat.

The stall will serve fish items, including hilsa, prawns, tangra, pabda and koi for lunch and dinner. Snacks prepared with fish will also be provided.

Last year a similar stall was set up in Bengaluru.

According to sources, the Durga Puja at Ahmedabad Kalibari is one of the most well-known pujas in western India in terms of pomp and grandeur.

The puja covers an area of more than two lakh square feet and 50 stalls will be set up in and around the pandal from October 13 to 19. Twentyfive of these stalls will serve non-vegetarian items.

The Ahmedabad puja committee got in touch with the managing director of SFDC and expressed their desire to set up the stalls.
