Srinagar, Sep 21: Describing the killing of three policemen on Friday as utter frustration of militants, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Friday said the killers will be given severe punishment soon.

''Do not inflate it,'' he said, adding that 20 militants were killed by security forces in different encounters recently, therefore, it was a frustration.

He said one of the slain policemen was with Railways, while another was a Special Police Officer (SPO), who had nothing to do with the Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the valley.

Mr Malik said since the state police was at the forefront in fight against militancy, they (militants) were, therefore, trying to target them (policemen). However, the militants cannot break the morale of police force, who will continue to fight against them, the Governor asserted.

He said security forces and state police personnel will soon catch the militants, who killed unarmed personnel and give them server punishment.

Two policemen and an SPO were abducted from their houses and later killed by militants in south Kashmir district of Shopian, early this morning.
