Govt committed to provide every facility to the far-flung areas: Div Com

SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today said that the government is committed to provide every facility to the far-flung areas.
The Divisional Commissioner made these remarks while took a detailed review of supply, stocking, distribution of food grains, and availability of K-oil and LPG in far-flung areas of Kashmir division including Leh and Kargil districts.
During the meeting, the Div Com was apprised about the requirements, stock and supply position with respect to essential commodities of food grains, petroleum products, LPG, construction material, medicines, cement, consumer goods, timber, firewood and other material.
Director FCS&CA gave a detailed resume of the availability of stocks including K-oil and LPG in far-flung areas including Leh and Kargil districts. He informed that 85% stocking is already complete and the rest will be stocked in fifteen days of time.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the authorities of FCS&CA to ensure stocking of full quota of essential commodities in hilly, remote and far-flung areas of Kashmir division including Leh and Kargil districts before the onset of winter and ensure that the people of these snow-prone areas do not suffer on this count.
He directed representatives of oil companies to keep a buffer stock of LPG and Kerosene oil for two months for far-flung areas including Leh and Kargil districts.
Representatives of Oil companies assured the meeting that they would transport an adequate number of LPG, petrol and diesel to the said areas to meet the demand.
The Divisional Commissioner asked the concerned not to show any negligence in the supply, dumping and carriage of essential supplies to the far-flung areas including Leh & Kargil districts for the coming winter season with the time frame.
He impressed upon the concerned to work with added zeal, zest and dedication so that benefits accrue to the people of far flung areas at large and the essential services are delivered to the beneficiaries well on time.
Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Additional Commissioner Srinagar, Director FCS&CA, Director Disaster Management, Chief General Manager Forest Corporation, GM JKSRTC, Superintending Engineers of PDD & PHE, Deputy Director of Health, Assistant Commissioner, Representatives of different Oil companies and other concerned officers were present in the meeting where as Deputy Commissioners of Leh, Kargil, Bandipora, Kupwara, Budgam, Pulwama and Anantnag participated the meeting through video conferencing.
