RAJOURI: The salaries of two senior officers were withheld in Rajouri district Tuesday for allegedly missing a key meeting in connection with the upcoming urban local bodies elections here.
The order to withhold the salaries was issued by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad.
The two erring officers include Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Akhter Hussain Qazi and DFO Social forestry.
The officers are appointed as nodal officers for manpower training management and maintaining liaison with election observers.
Asad had sought an explanation from the erring officers before initiating disciplinary action, an official spokesman said.
