Warns of action against non-performing officials

KISHTWAR: District Development Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana, today chaired a Public Grievance Redress Camp here at Nali village Bounjwah to have the first-hand appraisal of public issues.
A team of senior officers of line departments accompanied the DC at the camp attended by prominent civil society members of block Bounjwah and locals.
The locals projected infrastructure requirements including roads, power, water, healthcare and adequate patient care in health centers and establishment of blood bank.
Compensation to the owners for the land acquired for Dunadi Bonjwah road, making the local receiving station functional and start of Harnoi Power Project was also demanded by the people.
They further sought benefits to maximum number of people under old aged pension and marriage assistance scheme for poor girls and release of pending wages, material payments under MGNREGA and SBM. The people also demanded adequate staff in schools, play field, tourist centre and tourist hut at Devigool.
The locals also complained about acute water scarcity and demanded immediate release of salary to HR workers, income certificate for scholarship scheme, besides addressing Horticulture and agriculture, animal husbandry related issues.
The DC gave a patient hearing to the public and assured that all the genuine demands would be met in due course of time.
Regarding bad condition of Dunadi-Bonjwah road, the DDC said that the renovation of the road- the only life line of the area shall be started very soon. He directed Tehsildar to go for mapping of roads to remove encroachments with the help of police authorities and Line departments within two weeks.
The Power Development Department authorities informed that the un-electrified villages of Bonjwah area will be electrified within two months. The DDC directed XEN PDD to immediately erect electric polls wherever required within a week.
The Social welfare department informed that 676 cases of old age pension have been registered and 76 stand submitted under marriage assistance in which 48 were given assistance. The DDC directed DSWO to ensure disbursement of payment in remaining cases within shortest possible time.
Responding to the demand with regard to the upgradation of Agricultural Building, the DDC issued on spot directions to the concerned officer for immediate redress of the issue.
In response to the water scarcity problem of the area, DDC directed XEN PHE to clear the bottlenecks and address the drinking water issue on priority.
Responding to the demand of playfield in HSS Bounjwah , the DDC assured that the work shall be executed in convergence under MGNREGA and CDF. In this regard, the DDC informed that he will approach the local MLA for release of funds under CDF.
Further, DDC directed ACD, Kishtwar, DPO Kishtwar and BDO Bonjwah for immediate release of pending payments under MGNREGA and SBM without fail otherwise strict disciplinary action against the erring officer(s) shall follow.
Responding to the issue raised by a local electorate, the DDC directed local Tehsildar to immediately move records of Voter Lists to Tehsil Bounjwah for general information of the public.
Taking strong note of complaint about lackadaisical approach adopted by some employees in performing their legitimate duties, the DDC warn of making adverse entry in the Service Books of erring officials.
