Rajouri admin finalises arrangements for Urs at Shahdra Sharief

RAJOURI: Arrangements for 2 day annual Urs at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah commencing from September 20 were finalized here at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner Mohd Aijaz Asad.
The meeting was attended by ADC Rajouri Sher Singh ,ACR Rajouri Qyoom Mir besides concerned officers from all other required departments including Police, Health,PHE, R&B, PDD, FCS&CA, ARTO .The Chairman, members of Auqaf Committee and other civil society members from Shahdra Sharief also attended the meeting.
Briefing the meeting about the decisions taken with regard to arrangements, the DDC said that FCS&CA Department has been directed to ensure sufficient supply of ration including gas, kerosene and sugar for consumers during the Urs days.
He said the PDD has been asked to provide round the clock power supply to the town and in case of any urgency the generators shall be kept available. The DDC directed ARTO Rajouri to provide hassle free transport facility to the visiting devotees especially buses shall be made available from Rajouri to Shahdrashrief.
Accordingly, PHE Department has been directed that apart from uninterrupted water supply, mobile tankers must be kept ready to avoid any exigency. Chief Medical officer informed that one ambulance will be kept ready and medical camps will be setup during Urs days.
Similarly R&B Department was directed to make necessary repair of the road approaching to the shrine if required.
To ensure clean atmosphere during Urs days, the DDC impressed upon the Executive Officer Municipal Committee Thanmandi to keep premises clean garbage free and polythene free.
The DDC also directed the tourism authorities to start a mega plantation drive along the road.
