Tehsildar Nagrota, 3 Patwaris suspended for illegal mutation of 256 kanal state land

JAMMU: Tehsildar Nagrota and three Patwaris were today placed under suspension for illegally entering and attesting as many as 20 mutations of more than 256 Kanals of State land in various villages in the area.

Acting on the complaints received from several quarters regarding illegal mutations of the State land in the village Nagrota, Sitni, Khanpur, Jagti, Bamyal, Dung and Marh, Deputy Commissioner Jammu had constituted an enquiry committee to look into the matter.

The Enquiry committee found that 20 illegal mutations have been attested on State land measuring 256 kanals and 9 marlas in these villages.

The committee found that the revenue records have been tampered to facilitate the mutations on State Land. Even the mutations have been done for Gair Mumkin Choi, Jarh etc. All the said mutations have been attested during the period from August 2016 to February 2018.

After receiving the report, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar today cancelled these 20 illegal mutations and placed Tehsildar Nagrota Rajesh Kumar, and three Patwaries namely Riaz Ahmed, Faquir Ahmed and Arvinder Singh under suspension with immediate effect.

Rajesh Kumar is attached with the office of Divisonal Commissioner Jammu whereas Farooq Ahmad, looking after work of HQA to DC Jammu has been given the additional charge of post till a regular arrangement is made.

Financial Commissioner Revenue has been asked to initiate disciplinary action against the officers.
