‘We The Women’ brings for you about the women of various field, through which we get opportunity to learn in depth about the profession along with the individual. Today we have brought to you journey of another such woman with a unique profession. We are talking about Geetika Mahajan, Jammu’s Tarot card reader.

Geetika Mahajan is in her late thirties and is mother of two girls, aged 8 and 4 years. She was born in Jammu but brought up in Mumbai. Yet, after marriage she settled back in Jammu. She was an investment banker in Mumbai and started tarot card reading back in 2009 as a hobby.

According to her, the hobby turned into a profession over the years with word of mouth as her predictions became accurate and precise over time. Although Geetika is carrying on professional Tarot card reading from Jammu but she has a clientele all around the world.

Introspecting about her career and life-style choices, Geetika says, “I was very intuitive during my childhood days. I always had questions about life and believed that something out there in the universe is connected to me.”

Adding on she says, “With my spiritual involvement in so many years, the connection became very clear.”

Geetika, talking about the scenario she started reading in Jammu, shares, “When I shifted to Jammu in 2013 with my elder daughter and husband, I had no work options. On being suggested by a Tarot client in Mumbai, I tried reading for people in Jammu. And the results are mind blowing.”

Investment banking and Tarot card reading are two extremely different professions requiring not only different skills but at times different personalities. But according to Geetika the transformation was natural. This reveals the zeal to do something on your own even when the circumstances are not so favourable, rather odd.

Elaborating about the ease of professional transition Geetika expresses, “In investment banking, I understood the financial needs of the clients and offered them long term solutions for the same. In Tarot card reading, I understand the spiritual needs of the clients and give them life transformation suggestions.”

Speaking about the transition that she felt over the years after shifting to the profession of Tarot card reading, Geetika says, “My conviction, courage, wisdom and intuition had heightened. I have become a calmer person and that has helped me to lead a stress-free life in between all the responsibilities of everyday living.”
Explaining about the Tarot card reading, Geetika shares, “In Tarot card reading, we display 78 Cards in front of the clients. They need to pick up a particular number of Cards and the tarot card reader interpret their significance in the life of the picker.”

Tarot card reading is a guide, not a gospel. Geetika explains that Tarot is about hearing the inner voice of higher self, often perceived as intuition and embracing its message.

Geetika further adds, “Situations and problems are inferred through the combination of the Cards and prediction is given by the reader. Since it is a customised reading, it is apt for the individual it has been assigned to, giving that individual a heads-up and plan out accordingly to dodge the problem.”

“One of my clients came in total despair to me and with the help of the Card reading we figured out some solutions, with help of which we were able to transform her life by 180 degrees. We have bonded like sisters now,” says Geetika sharing about her most cherished experience in the field.

“When I attended her wedding, everyone told me that this was possible only because of me. The blessings I got from her family deeply touched my heart,” she adds on.

Geetika is now looking forward to go global with her profession. She follows the spiritual path of Nicherin Daishonins Buddhism. She expresses, “My chanting day and night gives me the impetus of who I am right now.”

To the women out there, Geetika’s words are, “Be confident, filled with courage and conviction. You are beautiful inside and out. Shine exactly where you are.”
