JAMMU: Taking strict note of its orders not being honoured, a court in Jammu today withheld the salary for SSP Anantnag and SHO concerned.
The court had earlier issued orders to execute summon against one person at least four times since August last year. However, with its directions being not honoured, Railway Magistrate Jammu Yahaya Firdous withheld the salary of the duo.
The court observed that on 17 July, this year, it issued summon against the accused Syed Farid Ahmed and directed SSP Anantnag and SHO concerned to ensure that summon is executed, failing which it was directed that this court would be constrained to pass order against the two officers.
“The court had already issued various summons to the accused with the direction to SSP Anantnag and SHO concerned to ensure the execution of the summons but neither the SSP Anantnag nor the SHO concerned paid any heed to the court orders despite the fact that each and every order of this court alongwith the summons were made available to SSP Anantnag through SSP Jammu for compliance,” he observed.
“Accordingly the personal pay of SSP Anantnag and SHO concerned is withheld till further orders,” he ruled.
Magistrate Firdous observed, “Thus, viewed above, issue fresh summon to the accused which shall be sent to SSP Anantnag for execution. The non-bailable warrants issued vide order dated 31.08.2018 in case titled Bharat Bushan Vs Syed Farid Ahmed (complaint u/s 138 N.I. Act) shall also be made available to SSP Anantnag for execution.”
The court posted the matter for further hearing on 4 October.
