Chhari Mubarak leaves Panjterni for Pahalgam on way to Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 27: The Chhari Mubarak, holy Silver Mace of Lord Shiva, left Panjterni on Monday for Pahalgam on way to its abode at Amreshwar Temple Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar.

The holy Mace reached Panjterni after day-long puja at holy cave shrine yesterday, when the 60-day-long pilgrimage concluded. Over 2.85 lakh pilgrims from different parts of the country paid obeisance at the cave shrine this year.

“ Har Har Mahadev” and “Bam Bam Boley” rented in the air when the Chhari, carried by Mahant Depeendra Giri, accompanied large number sadhus and sadhvees left Panjterni for Pahalgam early on Monday morning.

At Pahalgam the Sadhus will be served Kari Pakoda as Prashad on the bank of river Lidder as per the old tradition after immersion ceremony and performance of other rituals. Later the Chhari Mubarak will leave for its abode at Amreshwar Temple Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar marking the culmination of the yatra.
