Militant killed, two OGWs held

SRINAGAR: An unidentified militant was killed today as Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"An infiltration bid has been foiled along the LoC in Kasturi Naar in Baramulla," Srinagar based defence spokesperson Col Rajesh Kalia said.

He said one militant has been killed in the gunfight. The operation is in progress, he said.

In another incident, two over-ground workers (OGWs) of militant outfits were arrested today from Ganderbal district. Acting on a tip-off, the police today conducted a raid in Patti Saloora area of Ganderbal in central Kashmir, he said.

They were identified as Irfan Ahmad Mir and Aushiq Hussain Baba.

Incriminating material was also seized from their possession, the spokesman said, adding that a case under relevant sections of the IPC was registered against them. Further arrests are expected in the case, the spokesman said.
