PDP pitches for rigorous defence of Article 35-A in SC

Srinagar, Aug 16: A delegation of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday met Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra and raised a number of issues, including Article 35 A.
Chief Spokesperson of the party Rafi Ahmad Mir said in a statement this afternoon that a delegation of senior party leaders, led by former minister Abdul Rehman Veeri, met Mr Vohra at Raj Bhavan, here.
He said other members of the delegation included Dr Mehboob Beg, Nizam-ud-din Bhat, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, Mohammad Khalil Bandh, Mohammad Ashraf Mir and Zahoor Ahmad.
He said the delegation conveyed concern over the offences being launched against the special status of the state and also underscored the need of defending Article 35-A in the Supreme Court for the state's overall prosperity and tranquillity.
