Lal to float new front

JAMMU: BJP leader and former minister Choudhary Lal Singh, is all set to float a pro-Jammu apolitical front on Sunday, in a bid to pressurise his party to get his demands accepted, which mainly include transferring the probe in Rasana minor rape-and-murder case to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Lal, who was sacked from the Mehbooba Mufti cabinet along with his colleague Chander Parkash Ganga after the duo had participated in a rally taken out in support of accused in the case which shook the entire state.

Since then, Lal has taken out a couple of rallies, besides being vocal of the demand of CBI probe, upon which he was also reprimanded, reportedly, by the BJP national chief Amit Shah.

However, in a strategic move, Lal is going to intensify his fight to "restore the dignity and honour" of the Dogra community of the state by floating a new front, sources said.

"On Sunday, Lal Singh will announce the formation of the Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan, an apolitical organization through which he would mount pressure on the BJP to accept their demands, which would be submitted to the party on August 15,” they said.
