JAMMU: In what could be termed as ‘mudslinging’ on each other without caring the viral comments, the two intellectuals namely Professor RD Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Jammu University and former Advisor to then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and former Vice Chancellor of the varsity Amitabh Matoo had a heated wordy war on Facebook.

In fact, the heated arguments between the two attracted many Facebook surfers to witness the duo not budging to comment rudely to his rival and seemingly were seen indulging to expose each other’s wrong doings and scams on social media.

It started when Matoo used facebook as a tool to take a dig on present incumbent in Vice Chancellor’s chair i.e. Professor R.D Sharma and exposed Sharma by uploading bit by bit information about the short fall of the present VC for Jammu University.

Matoo’s post on facebook came to fore when professor R D Sharma, being one of the candidates for the post of VC which is scheduled to be renewed, was attending meeting with the Governor in his office chamber (JU VC Chamber) on Skype and two others short listed candidates for VC Jammu namely Professor Ramesh Chandra and Prof Manoj Dhar in New Delhi.

“Candidate just turns off Skype looking deeply despondent. Instructions for Do not Disturb still intact for all staff…………” Professor Matoo posted on Facebook while sitting in Australia.

He also posted the word ‘autonomy’ and alleged lapse of funds for past years. His sarcastic posting on face book made the R D Sharma infuriated.

Taking the post as an blow below-the-belt and as an embarrassment, Prof Sharma, VC JU too got engaged in war of words on Facebook and in retaliation he posted that Mehbooba ‘s Government collapsed because of bad habits of Matoo.

The things didn’t meet an end here and instead got more heated as Sharma even hit his rival Matoo with scams allegedly done during his tenure.

Few of the facebook post from the duo include “Best of luck, it is due to such of your bad habits Mehbooba Govt collapsed" and “Now to recollect the time when a public institution was said to be on sale for ulterior motives.”
