KATHUA: In the race for claiming the best facilities for their students, a private school in Kathua has gone a step ahead, not only celebrating ‘Rainy Day’ in the scorching heat that was witnessed on Friday sans any rain, but also boasting of the same to media, with the pictures giving it all away.

The famous school which is having its main branch in Jammu, it seems, had the stage set for the celebrations of ‘rainy day’ on Friday, before the rain gods betrayed it. Undeterred by the weather prediction gone wrong, the school administration, however, decided to go ahead with the plan, making the small children stand in scorching sun with their umbrellas.

The mockery that was made on Friday, came to fore when the school administration sent an e-mail to media persons in the evening.

The e-mail that was received by this scribe reads that the school keeps on concocting innovative techniques and styles with which learning can be made more rewarding and interesting.

“Rainy day is always a fun time for the kids if it is celebrated in the school. Moreover it makes the school environment light and mesmerizing for these unadulterated souls,” it read.

The e-mail further says, “Instead of confining them to their class rooms, the students of classes Pre- Nursery, Nursery, and Prep were brought out in open by their mentors with umbrellas and rain coats to enjoy the playful rainy weather when it was ‘raining like cats and dogs’. The kids really had a festivity time with their friends and the mentors. They enjoyed various kinds of delicious food items.”

Principal of the school told that such activities assist them to be extroverts. Even the introvert students also become friendly with everybody in such convenient and child friendly learning environment. Otherwise also at this tender age, they should be made to experience nature and its benevolences in order to be lovely and affectionate human beings, the e-mail stated.

While the pre-scripted e-mail could be mistaken for a correct factual statement of the events mentioned therein, the fact was that there was no rain on Friday, it was a sunny day.

The picture sent by school clearly shows students made to stand under sun with open umbrellas. Furthermore picture also speaks itself as the difference between shadows of the students and sunlight could be clearly seen.

However, when contacted with the principal of concerned school, she gave a very strange response saying that it was a creative act.

When questioned that how in absence of rain, the children with umbrellas and rain coats could enjoy the playful rainy weather ‘when it was raining, like cats and dogs’, she disconnected the call.
